I cross what was once one of the deadliest borders in the world. I leave “The West” behind and enter “The East”. Both terms from the cold war are still in use. The station seems deserted.
It looks new. But few seem to disturb its peace.
I look around.
I switch trains in Stendal.
Close to the station a shop sells flowers.
A train arrives. It is heading westward.
Further east the landscape offers spectacular views.
Autumn in Magdeburg.
Somehow things look different around here.
The shops …
… the services …
… and the Entertainment …
… seem to lack distracting ornaments. Many things are plain and simple; straight to the point.
Others are just beautiful.
The sun plays with light and shadows.
The weather changes in minutes.
I hurry to meet a friend and his family. We have brunch in a nice place. Who cares about the clouds.
