The best advice I got regarding the weather on the South Island is: If you do not like it, wait five minutes.
When I arrive it looks like this:
The weather forecast and everybody I ask agree: It will stay that way. So I go for a walk in the rain.
The next morning it looks like this …
… with a glimpse of blue sky.
I follow a track …
… in the shadow of the mountains …
… across the bridge …
… past rocks …
… into the valley …
… where the sun breaks through.
Behind this hill …
… lies the lake.
On my way back I take my time …
… to enjoy the High Country.
